videos were released by Mercy for Animals, a part of the Humane Society of the
United States, depicting animal abuse on a hog farms. According to Brownfield
Ag’s press
release, the videos show practices such as using “blunt force trauma” to
euthanize piglets. According to a press

at Pipestone farms, one of the farms depicted in the videos, a veterinarian,
who was taken by law enforcement to the farm, determined that there was no
inhumane treatment or violations of good production standards. Consequently, no
charges were filed against the farm operators. After an internal investigation,
Pipestone farms decided to immediately fire the employee involved for not
complying with its animal care protocols.
